William James once wrote,

Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact.

Good morning, my name is Michael Andreas, and it has been a while since I last blogged (December 2005, if I recall). This would be my third attempt to set up a consistent blog telling true story about my life and my thoughts. I kind of lost my first blog somewhere between my hard drive and the internet. The second one is more like a private diary which I kept at my localhost. I hope this time around, perhaps the world would have enough love for me. 😉

Yesterday I set up an account for myself at WordPress.com. From what I know about WordPress, and after a few visits to some of the blogs hosted here, I think this is a great place to start a blog. Like usual, it took me long time to think over some details, especially for the blog title. First I thought that I want to use one of my usual taglines, “Keep the peace, love, and respect” or “Every cloud has its silver lining.” Also came to my mind a new one which I’m eager to use, “Life through lyrics.”

In the end, I browsed my files and stumbled upon an excerpt by William James. “Be not afraid of life..” Hence the title of this blog. I thought it was perfect, remembering what I’ve been going through lately. Perhaps you’ve been there one day? Feeling clueless in life, uncertain future, nothing to hold on, nothing to fight for, out of rythm, carried away by the flow around you.

“Happily satisfied with who I am and where I stand in life,” that would be the better interpretation. Is it lack of desire? Is it right? Is it wrong? Is it me? That I’m human, and I’m supposed to have ego and never-be-satisfied characteristic?

Well just this morning, as the sunlight discretely shine through branches and leaves of a tree, I feel life’s telling me something. “Do not afraid, you’ve done enough, and you’ve been prepared.” I guess the world’s telling me that I’m ready.

So here I am. 🙂
